The vision for the SHE IS movement is to use the power of sport to create a future of, by, and for women. This movement has three goals. SHE IS goals are to drive attendance and viewership of women's sports at all levels, to connect through storytelling, and to centralize resources.

Social History and Organizations

The SHE IS movement is about supporting the growth of females participation through all levels of sports. This movement is for all the women or girls that play or aspire to play sports at any level. This is an international movement that involves companies and leaders from many different countries. This movement started in May of 2018 and continues to grow bigger and bigger every single day. With partnerships with massive organizations and corporations like Adidas, WNBA, NWHL, LPGA, and the WBC, this movement has grabbed the attention of many. Many of the notable organizations that support the She IS movement have goals of uniting the sports world to mobilize fan's to grow women's sports. For example the National Woman's Hockey League was the first professional women's hockey league in the United States. The first inaugural season started in October of 2015. The Boston Pride became the first team in NWHL history to raise the Isobel Cup on March 12, 2016,

Equality is when every girl can dream just as big as her brother.

SHE IS Ambassadors

The SHE IS movement has many notable ambassadors and supporters that are encouraging of their movement and goals. Some of the many supportes include Lisa Borders the former president of the WNBA, Allen Vansen the CEO of Rugby Canada, and Craig Annis the CBO of the United States Golf Association.

A couple ambassadors are; Kendall Coyne Schofield who is on the Woman's National Ice Hockey Team and is a two time olympic gold medalist. Kendall was the first female to play in the Chicago Pro Hockey League. Kendall says that "I can't let down a bunch of girls and women in our world because I have one moment, one opportunity to prove to the world that we belong".

Another one is Aubrey Bledsoe who played soccer at Wake Forest University. She holds the Wake Forest career record for shutouts, goals against average, games played and started, and minutes played in goal. She now plays for the Washington Spirit as a goal keeper.

Brittni Hutton is another SHE IS ambassador. Hutton is a NCAA- All American and a 2020 Marathon Olympic Trials Qualifier. One of her biggest goals with running is to inspire others, (especially woman) to pursue their passions and dreams.

Thinking Anthropoligcally

Thinking Anthropologically about this movement by connecting the ideas of how gender is a relation to power and how gender intersects with other relations of powerThis movement is all about equality for opportunities throughout men's and women's sports. Throughout history men have always been seen as the more powerful gender and that carries on into our current day sports.  A relation of power plays a huge roll in equality in sports today whether it is men getting paid more or getting more attention or better facilities. There is an obvious divide in how women and how men are treated when it comes to sports and it all comes back to what gender holds the power. That is why social movements like SHE IS are started.
